At Riverside Vet, our veterinary care team uses diagnostic testing and tools in our in-house lab, in addition to partnering with a third-party lab to rapidly and accurately diagnose your pet’s medical conditions so we can create specific and personalized treatment plans for your pet.
While there’s a lot our veterinary care team can determine from a physical exam, there are also some important pieces of information about your pet’s health that can only be determined through diagnostic testing. For that reason, diagnostic tests may be recommended for both well pets and for pets who are ill.
Pets that are ill often have “non-specific” symptoms. A symptom like vomiting could be caused by dozens of different factors, including eating something that upset their stomach, eating something poisonous, a parasite, an infection, a hormonal condition, or a problem with the liver or kidneys… just to name a few.
The veterinary care team at Riverside Vet will use diagnostic testing to help determine exactly what is causing a symptom so your pet can be treated appropriately and can feel better faster.
Dogs and cats often hide symptoms of a medical problem until it has progressed and become more difficult and expensive to treat. Sometimes our veterinary care team will suggest diagnostic testing to help detect early symptoms of a disease before it becomes a serious problem.
Riverside Vet is able to handle a variety of diagnostic laboratory tests, including:
- Urine Analysis
- Fecal Exam
- Heartworm/Tick-borne Illness Testing
- Skin and Ear Tests
- Infectious Disease Testing
- Digital X-rays
