Many prescriptions can be filled in-house for quick pickup, or, if preferred, we’re happy to send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice. Our goal is to make managing your pet’s medications simple, transparent, and stress-free so you can focus on their health and well-being.
In-House Pharmacy Services
Our in-house pharmacy allows Riverside Vet to provide timely, accurate medications directly from our clinic. By filling prescriptions on-site, our veterinary team can ensure proper storage, correct dosing, and clear instructions tailored to your pet’s specific needs.
Having medications available in-house often means quicker access to treatment and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your pet’s prescription has been reviewed and dispensed under direct veterinary supervision. If you have questions about how or when to give a medication, our team is always available to help—because your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities.
Refills and Prescription Requests
To ensure your pet’s safety and the accuracy of every medication, all prescription refill requests require doctor approval. Please allow up to 24 hours for approval before coming to the clinic. Once your refill has been approved, you may choose one of the options below.
Pay in Advance
- Payment is made after the prescription is approved.
- The medication will be filled in advance and held for pickup for up to 14 days from the approval date.
- This option allows you to bypass the wait time when you arrive.
Pay at Pickup
- If payment is not made in advance, the medication will be filled when you arrive at the clinic.
- Please expect a 15–20 minute wait, which may be longer during busy appointment times.
- Prescription approvals are valid for 30 days. If not picked up within that time, a new approval will be required.
Additional Information
- Medications that are prepaid but not picked up within 14 days will be returned to inventory and filled again when you arrive (15-20 wait time may apply).
- Refunds will be issued if you notify us that you no longer need or want the medication.
- Please wait for confirmation that your refill has been approved before coming to the clinic for pickup.
